The Tropical "Powerhouse" of Vitamin C + Antioxidant-rich!!!

Acerola Immunity Tea (Photo By: Iso Rapalo)

Winter is finally here folks!! And brrrr it's super cold outside. We can now officially say that we've reached low-teen weather in NYC- to be exact, its 19 F Degrees.

This homemade "Immunity Tea" is a perfect combination of goodness and flavors, especially now that the cold weather has arrived and the "Flu Season" is booming-- although, we can't forget about Covid-19- yikes! This is a perfect tea to boost your immune system with vitamin c and rich+antioxidants.

Short story, I really "love" to eat acerola cherries, ever since when I was kid. These cherries are a beautiful and traditional fruit, their shapes is very similar to the cherry that we tend to know but let's explore the diversity of this particular cherry:

COLOR: Acerola cherries are different in colors (A combo of red, yellow, and orange).

FLAVOR : Tangy when it's in the peak of maturity and Delicious when it's ripped.

TEXTURE: The inside is very distinctive, the seed or pit is not solid, it looks spongy-air-filled, and it's very chewable.

For some of you, this "cherry" may be "new" but to many cultures--this is a classic medicinal fruit from the Caribbean, Mexico, Central/South American. As you can see, Acerola Cherries are grown in warmer and humid climate areas. It's been available for many, many, many years and natives have used it as a medicinal property for many usages.

(*) P.S. My mom used to make a slamming fruit spread/jam with acerola cherry.

Acerola Cherry are tangy but very delicious, and distinctive.
